As an Air Freight Specialist, you will build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, addressing their concerns, resolving issues, and ensuring their satisfaction. In addition, you will continuously assess customer needs, market trends, and competitors to enhance service offerings and maintain a competitive edge.
How You Will Contribute
- Manage file creation and all services associated with freight forwarding and logistics.
- Assist with account start-up and liaise with sales to ensure required documentation for SOPs is provided.
- Monitor and audit files weekly for compliance, accurate estimates, profit margin setting, and timely invoicing.
- Support clients with day-to-day requests related to export/import documentation for proper execution of transportation files.
- Provide clients with complete flight and sailing details to ensure smooth information flow.
- Liaise with airlines and ocean carriers to secure optimal solutions for capacity and cost.
- Coordinate with internal network and external partner agents to guarantee high-quality service assistance.
- Act promptly to resolve any emergency situations during the life cycle of air/ocean files.
- Collaborate with operations colleagues to provide support during workflow peaks.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the operations team.
What You Will Bring
- Degree in any field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years of recent experience in freight forwarding operations and customer service.
- Solid working knowledge of the freight forwarding industry.
- Strong execution skills: ability to question, analyze, plan, and follow up to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Agile mindset: ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to interpret data.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills for interaction with clients, carriers, and vendors.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage but not required.
