Role Overview

The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at TAPI is the executive leader responsible for shaping and executing the company’s global commercial strategy across the pharmaceutical API Catalog and CDMO businesses. This role drives long‑term growth, commercial transformation, and customer‑centric excellence while ensuring TAPI remains the partner of choice for leading pharmaceutical companies worldwide. The CCO oversees all commercial functions, including 3rd‑party API Catalog Sales, CDMO Sales, Marketing, Customer Experience, Product Management, and Key Account Management.

This is a pivotal role for TAPI’s next chapter, requiring a visionary leader who can steer strategic change, elevate commercial performance, and strengthen TAPI’s position in a highly regulated, competitive, and rapidly evolving global market.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Transformation

  • Define and lead TAPI’s global commercial strategy across 3rd party catalog sales and CDMO businesses, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and long‑term growth ambitions.
  • Drive commercial transformation initiatives, including organizational redesign, process optimization, digitalization, and capability building.
  • Champion a culture of strategic thinking, agility, accountability, execution and continuous improvement across all commercial teams.
  • Translate market, regulatory, and competitive insights into actionable strategic priorities.
     

Commercial Excellence & Revenue Growth

  • Direct the global 3rd‑party API catalog sales and CDMO sales organizations, ensuring strong pipeline development and seeding, disciplined forecasting, and consistent revenue delivery and growth.
  • Establish a unified go‑to‑market model that integrates sales, marketing, product management, and customer experience.
  • Oversee pricing strategy, contract models, and commercial policies to maximize profitability while maintaining compliance with pharmaceutical industry standards.
  • Expand TAPI’s presence in key markets and customer segments, identifying new growth opportunities and strategic partnerships.
     

Customer Experience & Key Account Leadership

  • Build a world‑class customer experience framework that strengthens trust, transparency, and long‑term collaboration with global pharma customers.
  • Oversee strategic key account management, ensuring TAPI is positioned as a preferred partner for both API supply and CDMO services.
  • Ensure seamless customer engagement across the lifecycle—from early development to commercial supply.

Product Management & Portfolio Strategy

  • Direct the product management teams in shaping TAPI’s API portfolio strategy, including lifecycle management, differentiation, and competitive positioning.
  • Partner with R&D, operations, and regulatory teams to ensure commercial priorities are embedded in portfolio decisions.
  • Guide CDMO offering development, ensuring alignment with market needs and TAPI’s technical capabilities.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the CEO, COO and CFO to align commercial strategy with manufacturing, supply chain, and financial planning.
  • Collaborate with R&D and technical teams to ensure customer and market insights inform innovation and capability investments.
  • Partner with Quality and Regulatory Affairs to ensure commercial activities meet global compliance requirements.
  • Partner with Procurement to align supplier strategy, cost competitiveness, and risk management.
     

Change Management & Organizational Leadership

  • Lead large‑scale change initiatives that further modernize TAPI’s commercial organization, processes, and systems.
  • Build and mentor high‑performing teams across sales, marketing, CX, and product management.
  • Establish clear KPIs, accountability frameworks, and performance management systems.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, empowerment, and customer‑centricity.

 

Qualifications

Who are we looking for:


A successful candidate will bring extensive senior‑level commercial leadership experience within the Catalog Pharmaceutical API or CDMO sector, with a proven ability to lead large‑scale commercial transformation and drive strategic change. They should possess a deep understanding of global API markets, CDMO business models, regulatory frameworks, and the commercial dynamics that shape relationships with both innovator and generic pharmaceutical customers. Strong commercial acumen is essential, including expertise in pricing, complex B2B negotiations, and managing long‑cycle, high‑value customer engagements.

Experience requirements:

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical API and/or CDMO industry.
  • Several years (minimum 3–5+) in a senior commercial executive leadership role specifically within the API and/or CDMO sector.
  • Demonstrated track record leading commercial strategy, transformation, and high‑value customer engagement at scale.
  • Experience operating within global, matrixed organizations and leading cross‑functional teams.

The role requires someone who excels at influencing, communicating, and building alignment across diverse stakeholder groups. A background in digital transformation or commercial excellence programs is highly valuable, reflecting TAPI’s ambition to modernize and elevate its commercial capabilities.

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, pharmacy, chemical engineering, business, or a related field, with an advanced degree such as an MBA or MSc preferred. Together, this blend of strategic leadership, industry expertise, and academic grounding will enable the CCO to guide TAPI’s commercial organization through its next phase of growth and transformation.
