Embed is a regulated Payment Service Provider (PSP) for Vertical SaaS platforms. We are a fast-moving, ambitious startup backed by tier-1 investors, building modern payments infrastructure that simplifies compliance, risk, and integration for software platforms.

What You'll Do

We're looking for a Product Engineer who’s comfortable owning problems end-to-end including talking to customers, designing systems, writing code across the stack and demo-ing your work for product marketing purposes. You’ll help shape our systems and culture from the ground up, working cross-functionally to build a world-class embedded payments platform.
Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and building core payment systems and backend infrastructure (Node.js/NestJS, AWS, event-driven systems).
  • Contributing to customer-facing frontend work (React/TypeScript) where needed.
  • Collaborating across Product, Design, GTM, and customers to spec and refine features.
  • Participating in architectural design reviews, writing docs, and sharing solutions early.
  • Owning the full engineering lifecycle: coding, support, demoing, and learning.
Experience & Skills

You might be a fit if you:

  • Have strong experience in backend systems (Node.js, TypeScript, databases, AWS).
  • Are comfortable working on frontend components (React, UI design systems).
  • Are product-minded and thrive in early-stage ambiguity.

What we expect from Embed's product engineers:

  • Code. Write clean, tested, maintainable code.
  • Talk to customers. Engineers take part in 2nd-line integration support.
  • Own projects end-to-end. Engineers at Embed lead initiatives from design and alignment through implementation, launch, and ongoing reliability.
  • Be on call. We operate a shared on-call rotation.
  • Present your work. Record and/or demo what we build internally and externally.
  • Show up. We value in-person collaboration (that looks like ~4 days/week in our office in Amsterdam).
  • Practice radical candor. We give and receive direct, constructive feedback as a core part of how we build, grow, and work together.
  • Care deeply about our mission, customers, product, and each other.
