ING is looking for a senior project manager to accelerate ING’s journey for AI Risk Management
ING has high ambitions to capture the potential of the use of (Generative) AI and leverage its capability throughout the organisation. After a first year of piloting, proof of concepts and acceleration on Gen AI use cases, ING is preparing to expand in a bold but responsible way. As a Risk Function we want to ensure we can properly support ING’s ambitions by ensuring that the risk management framework can sufficiently capture the new characteristics of (Gen)AI risk management, while ensuring it is efficient, effective and scalable. To this end the CRO domain has set-up an AI Risk Centre of Excellence (CoE) and ING is looking for a Senior Project Manager to help in this process to enable ING’s expansions on (Gen)AI.
Given the evolving nature of the use of (Gen)AI the AI Risk management is expected to evolve over time as well. So far, people allocated from different parts of the risk organisation have collaborated and defined a risk management
Next steps are expansion of GenAI within the bank, needing a holistic and strategic view within the Risk function. The AI Risk Project Manager reports directly to Lead AI Risk Management, but will closely collaborate with the teams in Moel Risk, Non-Financial Risk and Compliance that are part of the CoE. In addition, the role is also expected to interact with all other senior management of the CRO function, and ING Analytics.
The team
The AI Risk CoE exists out of highly specialistic professionals from NFR, Compliance, Model Risk, Legal, CISO and interacts frequently with ING Analytics. The team works in a hybrid fashion between Amsterdam and Warsaw.
Role and responsibilities
Strategic Program Oversight: Lead the end-to-end coordination of AI Risk Centre of Excellence initiatives, ensuring alignment with ING’s strategic objectives and regulatory expectations.
Governance and Delivery Management: Define and implement governance structures and execution plans that support complex, cross-functional project delivery within a risk-controlled environment.
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a central liaison between senior management, risk functions (Model Risk, Non-Financial Risk, Compliance), and business units to ensure effective communication, escalation, and decision-making.
Framework Implementation: Support the development and operationalisation of the AI Risk Management framework, embedding it into existing risk processes and ensuring consistent application across domains.
Use Case Monitoring: Oversee the tracking and evaluation of AI use cases, ensuring robust documentation, control implementation, and alignment with risk appetite.
Change Enablement: Drive change management and communication strategies to foster awareness and adoption of AI risk governance practices across the organisation.
