Position Overview:
We are a fast-growing start-up at the forefront of online advertising, driven by innovation, ownership, and getting things done.
We're seeking a versatile PR Executive to drive our storytelling and media outreach. You'll collaborate closely with our in-house data team and community to uncover fresh angles on mature narratives, including relationships and wellness - turning data, member stories, and industry trends into pitches that land features in top publications. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves crafting narratives that spark conversations and challenge norms. No two days will be the same, and you'll have the autonomy to ideate and execute in a supportive, flexible environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Member Storytelling: Conduct sensitive, empathetic telephone interviews with our members to identify and curate personal stories of empowerment, discovery, or advocacy that could feature in media.
Story Ideation: Brainstorm and develop compelling, trend-forward story ideas that resonate with journalists at outlets like Vice, Cosmopolitan, or The Guardian.
Content Creation with Data Team: Partner with our internal data analysts to mine insights from user trends and behaviors, co-creating original reports, infographics, or whitepapers that provide genuinely novel, shareable content to excite editors and reporters.
Media Outreach: Craft and distribute targeted press releases, pitches, and follow-ups to journalists, building relationships and securing coverage across print, digital, and broadcast.
General PR Support: Track media coverage, maintain media lists, and contribute to reactive opportunities as needed.
What We're Looking For:
2+ years in PR, journalism, or communications, ideally with exposure to lifestyle and / or wellness (comfort with adult themes is a must… we're all about openness here).
Naturally outgoing and energised by connecting with people
Strong interpersonal skills: Comfort interviewing diverse individuals and building journalist rapport.
Excellent writing and pitching skills: You can turn complex data into engaging, succinct narratives.
Proactive and creative mindset: Experience ideating stories or working with data for PR wins is a big plus.
Tech-savvy: Familiarity with tools like Google Workspace, PR software (e.g., Cision or Meltwater), and social listening platforms. Experience with Muckrack, Roxhill, Cision or any other similar platform is highly beneficial.
