Your mission
As a Senior System Engineer of Telio you are responsible for the optimal availability of the Telio systems and the applications in our highly complex environments. Together with deeply skilled co-workers throughout the company, you will take care of maintenance, timely identification issues and troubleshooting. You plan, coordinate, and implement the various measures and contribute by actively brainstorming, looking critically, and coming up with suggestions for improvements to enhance the quality of our servers.
The daily operational activities consist of the following tasks:
- Server Management: Setup, configure and maintain server environments for optimal performance.
- Infrastructure Maintenance: Perform routine updates and maintenance.
- VMware Management: Ensure high availability and performance of VMware infrastructure.
- Second Level Support Collaboration: Guide and support the Second Level Support team to help them assist their customers effectively.
- Proactive System Monitoring: Proactively monitor systems and networks to prevent issues, implement solutions to prevent downtime or performance degradation.
- Backup and Recovery: Manage backup solutions and test recovery procedures. Ensure backups are performed and recovery procedures are tested and documented.
- Incident Management: Lead resolution efforts for complex incidents to ensure minimal impact on operations.
- Asset Management: Maintain hardware and software inventory, ensuring compliance.
- Audit and Compliance: Conduct audits to ensure policy and regulatory compliance.
- Documentation and Design: Create and maintain network-related documentation (e.g. design specifications, installation instructions, procedures, checklists).
- International Collaboration: Work with global IT teams on cross-border projects.
- Standby Duties: Participate in standby duties.
Your profile
- Education: You hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (preferred) or similar.
- Experience: You bring over five years of experience in system administration, IT system architecture, network management, or a related field.
- Technical Expertise:
- Your strength lies in your extensive knowledge of Windows operating systems, including Active Directory, Windows Server, back-office products, and workstations.
- VMware virtualization is a key area of expertise for you.
- You are well-versed in Confluence and Jira.
- Linux operating systems are a strength of yours.
- Experience with cloud services such as AWS and Microsoft Azure is a valuable asset you possess.
- You have a solid background in monitoring systems.
- Administration of phone systems is an advantageous skill you have, though not required.
- Skills:
- Your communication and technical documentation skills are excellent.
- You are proficient in English, both spoken and written.
