The Brand & Marketing team at the Center of Expertise (CoE) Brand, Marketing & Communications is looking for a Social & Own Channel Manager to support to build the most appealing and meaningfully different universal banking brand in the Netherlands.

As a financial institution and one of the most familiar brands in the Netherlands, working for the CoE requires the ability to work in a highly dynamic and complex landscape, servicing the wide base of ING customers as well as all product tribes and business lines within ING NL.

The team

As Social & Own Channel Manager you’ll join the Brand & Social team, part of the Brand & Marketing team and report into the Expert Lead Brand & Social and work in close collaboration with the other members of the Brand & Social team.

The purpose of the Brand & Social team is to shape and strengthen the ING differentiation through brand positioning and brand activities and drive awareness, excitement and engagement for the brand and to keep it alive and fresh.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Execution of strategy and creative development, management and thought leadership on owned, earned and shared channels, with a focus on social media.

  • Focus will be on defining the always on social media activities, managing the marketing calendar across channels and support steering the community.

  • Managing the local social media accounts, including social media listening.

  • Managing the local owned channels (mass target, i.e. email, app, homepage).

  • Data analysis and reporting, tracking trends and insights, reporting, identifying and prioritising emerging platforms and best practice sharing, testing and learning.

  • Develop, execute and evaluate creative concepts and campaigns for always on social media and owned channels.

  • Develop content and compose social media posts, either directly or in collaboration with other team members within the CoE Communications, Brand and Marketing department.

  • Optimise local social media accounts and collaborate with agencies and vendors.

  • Ensure web care and community management.

  • Ensure monitoring of performance, listening and reporting and issue management.

  • Manage social media applications and tools.

  • Contribute to development and updates of the social media guidelines.

  • Stay ahead of industry trends, platform updates, and audience behaviours to identify growth opportunities.

  • Actively collaborate with the other social and own channel manager.

  • Collaboration with other teams to ensure cohesive messaging and alignment with broader goals.

How to succeed

  • An inspiring social media professional with a proven experience and track-record in a comparable role, building a strong brand.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or a related field.

  • 3+ years’ work experience in developing and executing brand campaigns with a focus on owned and earned channels.

  • Deep understanding of major social media platforms and emerging trends, experience in influencer marketing, paid media, native content, innovative mindset 

  • Strong interest and affinity for brand building.

  • Strong project management skills, capable of developing a structured approach to projects.

  • Enthusiastic team player, eager to foster an open culture of collaboration within the team.

  • Fluent in English both verbally and in (copy) writing.
