As a Transportation Manager, you will:
- Oversee and manage daily product shipments from production to the end-user.
- Schedule and supervise daily and weekly shipping routes to ensure timely delivery.
- Utilize tracking systems (e.g. barcodes and tracking software) to monitor and report on the status of orders.
- Collaborate with warehouse teams to ensure proper storage, distribution, and inventory management of products.
- Report and manage transportation costs to optimize cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure that all shipping documents are accurately filed and compliant with regulations.
- Track and report on the maintenance and repair needs of transportation vehicles and equipment.
- Research and recommend cost-effective shipping methods to improve overall efficiency.
- Conduct safety audits and ensure compliance with safety regulations for equipment.
- Organize and lead training sessions for employees on the proper use of machinery and handling of hazardous materials.
- Maintain organized records for vehicles, schedules, and completed orders.
- Stay updated on industry safety regulations and ensure the organization’s compliance with all shipping legislation.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Proven experience (10+ years) in transportation management, shipping management, or similar roles.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of supply chain management and logistics operations.
- Proficiency in utilizing logistics software (e.g. Freightview, 3PLink).
- Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise and train staff.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and legal regulations in transportation.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- High school diploma is required; a BSc in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a relevant field is a plus.
You should possess the ability to:
