Department Description

The Technical - Deck Engineers Department onboard Allseas’ vessels is responsible for the maintenance and operation of all deck machinery and equipment. This team of specialised engineers ensures the functionality and reliability of cranes, winches, hydraulic systems, and other essential deck machinery. They perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs to minimise downtime and ensure safe operations.

Job Description

Job Objectives:

  • Appointed deputy in case of default or absence; to be decided by Chief Engineer.
  • Management and supervision of maintenance and repair activities on all deck- and production related equipment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Comply with Allseas Integrated management System (AIMS).
  • Directly responsible for the daily maintenance and operations of the deck equipment
  • To control, maintain and repair all deck equipment under the control of the Chief Engineer in co- operation with and with the aid of his personnel.
  • Responsible for that all duties of the deck department are executed safely, while complying with the rules and regulations laid down by the flag state administration, IMO, classification society and port state authorities.
  • Ensure the Chief Engineer and Master are immediately informed of any condition or incident that arises as per standing instructions.
  • Ensure the Chief engineer is immediately informed of any condition or incident that affects or may affect the safety of the vessel, operations or personnel.
  • Ensuring to keep the Chief engineer informed on all main repairs or maintenance works.
  • Ensure, in conjunction with the Chief Engineer that adequate stock is on board to maintain equipment and redundancy of equipment under his care.
  • Organize and control ER inventory management together with the warehouse
  • Organize and control spare part inventory deck equipment together with the warehouse
  • Llase close with other department heads and construction crew.
  • Act as per standing instructions (Operations Manual - Vol. III).

 

Job Tasks:

  • Delegate execution of planned maintenance- and repair activities to Shift Leaders.
  • Organize and control spare part inventory of the deck equipment together with the warehouse
  • Maintaining required administration (i.e. logbooks, pre-shift meetings, maintenance system, stock administration)
  • Follow up after any modification on as-built documentation and share this with office
  • Prepare work/leave schedule.
  • Promote safety
     

Qualifications & Experience

  • Dutch licence Chief Engineer no limitations or equivalent
  • Fluent verbal/written English.
  • Computer literate.
  • Sufficient experience in offshore construction equipment
