About the role

DroneShield is seeking a Netherlands-based Sales Director(s) with relevant sales and business development experience to join its team based in Europe. The position will report to CEO and represents an exceptional opportunity for a results-driven individual in a new, yet rapidly growing global market for counter-drone security.


The role will form an integral part of a small global sales team, supported by Sales Engineers and senior management of the business. Sales channels include a mixture of direct-to-end-customer, distributor, and integrator sales.


As this role is within a scale-up business in a nascent industry, it involves a substantial amount of planning and strategy work alongside sales execution. The ideal candidate will be both a thinker and a doer—the job will require a significant amount of responding to incoming leads and performing essential tasks, along with high-level sophisticated work and management of several channel partners. The role will involve hands-on work and learning about complex sensor and electronics systems.


A competitive compensation package will be offered for the role, including a competitive base salary, attractive uncapped sales commission, and stock options.


Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations 


Work as an integrated part of the European team to:

  • Grow and execute the strategy for the region
  • Create and prioritise strategic target account lists
  • Prospect and qualify leads using various sources
  • Set meetings, conduct demonstrations, and visit prospects
  • Maintain active engagement with new and existing leads through creative follow-up communications
  • Conduct high-level conversations with counterparties in prospect accounts
  • Represent DroneShield at tradeshows and industry events
  • Conduct demonstrations and installations of the DroneShield systems
  • Provide input in writing product manuals and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Assist in providing distributor and end-customer training in product use

Qualifications, Experience and Skills 

  • 5-15 years of technical sales experience, ideally including a track record in C-UAS sales   
  • Defence or security sector network and experience is essential   
  • A technical degree is well-regarded; in its absence, a demonstrated track record of working with complex RF, radar, or similar technologies is required   
  • Proven track record of success   
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously, while also being part of and contributing to a strong geographically distributed team   
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills   
  • Motivated self-starter   
  • High degree of attention to detail   
  • Creative lateral thinker.
